What should I expect going into Calc 2?

>> No.8404053

brainlets crying because they can't follow simple techniques to compute integrals

brainlets crying because they can't understand infinite series

brainlets crying because they don't understand any of the convergence tests

brainlets

In my old highschool ap calc classes the AB students would worship BC students because they understood infinite series, shit was hilarious.

To be fair, I actually didn't understand the convergence series that well until calc 3. I guess it was a matter of my prof.

Optimization hell.

Kill me, anon.

Depends on your prof and what they want to emphasize.

Mine focused almost entirely on integration techniques and series, with a couple surface problems thrown in. He graded partial credit generously, so I just half-assed the surface problems and made sure I knew what I was doing with integration and series and I walked away with an A.

M8, just read your text book before lecture, take notes and review them before bed. Do practice problems every day and you'll be fine. If you're confused on something, ask a TA/tutor or go to professor's office hours. It's really not that bad.

Multivariable is making me want to kill myself though.

what...what kind of answer do you expect

Do I need to memorize identities (trig, hyperbolic, etc). Should I do it now?

More calculus.

Nigga, how did you pass calc 1 without having them memorized? Are you still in calc 1 worried about 2?

You should have Pythagorean identities and half angles memorized, as well as the derivatives of inverse trig functions (this will make trig substitution integrals a lot easier). Besides that, as long as you have a good understanding of what the derivative and limit (as x goes to infinity) is, you'll be fine.

Also this. Calc 2 acts as a weeder in a lot of schools, and people who don't do the homework and attend lecture, or have shitty algebra skills will get sacrificed

A shitload of homework that will take at least two hours to do every other day and twice as long if you keep snapchatting and texting. No one gets good by shirking the drills.

Fuck bros. I got a test on integration by parts, trig substitution, special substitution, and partial fraction decomposition. Do i just do exercises until i die?

Xtreme Trig and babbys first DE

Yes. There's literally no other way to git gud at calc 2. The hardest part is identifying which technique to use.

OP do the practice problems at the end of your book (probably Stewart) once after you learn the section and again before the final. Maybe one more time for good measure and you'll get an A.
