What are you studying and what year are you? Every advanced class I've taken the professors all lecture out of what appears to be their own college notes. Why would you shoot yourself in the leg and not copy the shit down? Unless you're in freshman level courses and the shit is trivial, I don't see how writing down what's on the blackboard is wasting time. As long as you're matching the professors speed then you are wasting 0 time writing. Unless you can't think and write at the same time? Most students find that they think more clearly when they're writing their thoughts down.
