On Jupiter anticyclonic storms give rise to giant red spots and on Earth strands of protein give rise to biological organisms. Is not life simply a phenomenon like weather, there being no abstract reason for it?

But, alas, we feel too deeply. Are we not moved by our emotions like the clouds are the wind? And do clouds not obscure the sun like emotions do our reason?

And with reason in mind, for what reason do we feel? Are these things which give life flavour merely mechanisms of our brains, brains crafted ingeniously by the blind yet painfully fair process of evolution?

It hasn't been there forever. Others might have come before, or will again. To say "to a spot" would limit the sentence unreasonably.

I have a big red spot on my ass and some bad wind. Am I a god?
