yo /sci/ there was a thread last night or the other night with some pretty good riddles, so lets have another

>In a room there are 100 participants in a "game" scenario
>Each participant pays $1 entry fee in the form of a single bill
>Each participant is given a number 1-100, which they write on their shirt and their dollar
>The dollars are all collected by the game coordinator
>The game coordinator speaks to the group over a PA, who are all in a room together
>Here's the rules of the game:
>1 by 1, each participant enters the next room
>In the next room are 100 boxes marked 1-100
>You get to open 50 boxes, and the goal is to find the bill with your number on it
>After each participant, the room is completely reset (all 100 bills back in place, no marks or messages would make it though)
>Participants do not go back to the first room, and cannot communicate with the rest of the group
>If EVERY participant finds their bill within their 50 tries, they as a group win- collecting a $100 payout each
>If EVEN ONE participants doesn't find their bill within 50 tries, they all lose and leave emptyhanded
>The participants may collaborate for as long as necessary to produce a strategy, but once they begin sending people to the box room that's it
>How do you create favorable odds for the participants? In other words, what's the optimal strategy
>Hint: Not necessarily a win 100% of the time with the optimal strategy

whoops, a bit more
>The bills are randomly distributed in the boxes, but put in the same box every reset
>1 box 1 bill, no doubles or empty boxes
