What is beyond the universe is beyond the mind of humanity, or any being that can exist in this universe. To call it nothing is false, because "nothing" in this universe is just a vacuum, empty space. Beyond the edges of the universe there is no empty space because spacetime does not exist there. It is simply a lack of anything. It is not infinite because no spatial dimensions exist there, and therefore it cannot have a size. It never came into existence, will not change, and cannot change, because there is no time dimension(s) beyond our own universe. The only phrase fit to describe this phenomenon is "the void".

> "nothing"
No. There is no known nothing. (That could almost be a line to a song)
> in this universe is just a vacuum, empty space
What empty space?
There's matter (maybe a proton per m^3) out there
>edges of the universe
What?

Just golly...
Resubmit your inquiry
What do you want to know?
You're stuck in here dude. Get over in. n-dimensional string theory (a dubious form of circular reasoning) and Branes aren't going to help you get "outside".

Now the people in >>>/x/ might be able to help.
You're looking for the Ain (Ayin) (Nothing), Ain Soph (Limitlessness) and Ain Soph Aur (Limitless Light).
>& even that can be explained as the period between T=0 and Planck Time.

Just golly...

What make you think there is something "beyond" universe? There is nothing beyond, universe is infinite.
