To be quite honest i don't know.
The whole machine-learning stuff we have is nowhere near to real human capabilities - we can't even make computers solve simple math proofs effiecently (the four color theorem was solved by bruteforcing all the options).

In the far future it may be possible. It's not a meme in general, but all the "REAL SINGULARITY IN UNDER FIVE YEARS"-guys are just memeing.

We already have an ai that can replicate a nobel prize winning experiment, I don't think it will be long before we have ai showing common sense.
