The actual dividing line between hard and soft science is rigor that comes from mathematical modelling. This why typically we think of physics and chem as hard science. But it need not be that bio is soft. Sadly as it stands most bio journals read like diary entries about the new flavor of ice cream the author tried that day but these faggots will soon be obsolete. Even the liberal arts major who took my order of fries can do their jobs, just expose x organism to y substance or something, observe and write about it. They may bitch about how biological systems are complex to excuse their sloppy methodology but really it just highlights how retarded they are. The more complex the system the more it needs to be modeled and simulated so that we can begin to understand its workings.

this
I'm on my final semester of Genetics, and now I hate Biology for all the memoritic stuff and got into Genetics cuz it seemed more mathematical related and I love maths, bu over the last years going throu cell biology biochem, molecular biology and shitlike that I'm really dissapointed of the career.

Glad to know there are people developing Biomathmatics as I'm interested in Systems Biology and to merge maths and informatics with Biology but I live in Southamerica and I have no fuckin idea how to live of it... sad most people here are ok doing the same lab stuff like old alchemy but I really think too the day will come for mathamtic modelling .

I always love how shit posters on sci scream that bio isn't a real science but then when you ask them super fucking basic questions about biology they don't have the slightest idea how it they work or when you show them comp/ math bio they start bitching because you can't even do the easy shit without at least completing your undergrad in math.
