If you're talking about in terms of how interesting or enjoyable it is, I'm not sure. But network theory is being applied heavily to biochemistry right now -- such as how participants of one metabolic process affect another, and two more down the line, and so on. With bioinformatics the way it is currently, I could imagine being a pretty hot commodity if you specialized in network analysis mathematics.
