Say I had a few hundred Billion quid lying around and wanted to get to the Moon without the approval of Government, and without Richard Branson. Just a one way trip by myself.

How would I do it? And what would I have to overcome in terms of Gravity, Electrical storms, etc?

I don't care if I die up there/on the way, that's a risk I'll take. I just want to know what I'm up against.

Thanks.

You need to specify if you want to land on the moon alive or just reach it alive (i.e. hard or soft landing), the latter is a lot easier.

Either landing really. The return trip isn't necessary, so the vehicle is expendable. I'll sky-dive from orbit if it's the only viable option.

Reaching the Moon alive is the goal, but if I die en-route then so be it.

Safety is of no importance.

That doesn't really matter, since there's no air for a parachute to work. You could lighten your mass to lunar insertion requirement by using a spacesuit with a monopropellant jet pack but you'll either need a great control system or a lot of training to not eat shit on the landing.

This guy has the right idea. Just so you know, you couldn't ride a transfer stage from orbit to the Moon on a budget and survive. A cheap system to reach the Moon is likely to take several days to get there so you'd need a capsule of sorts but, for the braking phase, you absolutely could cut down to a jepack/spacesuit combo.
