To assume that correlation equals causation is fallacious for obvious reasons.

Just because black people commit overprportionately many crimes in the US does not mean that being black makes you more likely to commit crimes.
Whats really going on is that POOR people commit more crime across the entire globe throughout all races and religions. Thats not where it stops though, because the real source of crimes is the same that causes poverty: low education!
Educate people, thereby taking them out of poverty and give them no reason to commit crimes.

Actually 19th century divisions CRUDELY match genetic distance. For instance the Negritos of the South Asian islands physically match point for point to sub-saharan blacks but are in truth more closely related to the asians than blacks. This is because they derived from one of the base migrations out of africa and into asia, adapted to the asian region, branched away and eventual settled on the islands, isolating themselves genetically, keeping/ adapting previous coded information from the human genome.

Because of this they achieved or retained superficially similar features to sub-saharan blacks despite not sharing genes with each other for thousands of years. 19th century science couldn't properly assess this kind of situation until much later, this one of the core reasons why basing genetic findings merely on facial and skin color features is HIGHLY discouraged. Because you can't tell by mere observation how related any two people or populations.

Which means little because there is still an active sharing of genes between the "Caucasian" and "Negro" populations. The Negritos that I just mentioned above don't actively share genes with the "Negro" populations which means that Negroes are genetically closer to Caucasians than they are to Negritos.
