The thing about prosthetics is that it's a field that has pretty much only borrowed from other sciences the past 1000 years.

The best hand prosthesis we have only have around 2, 3 sometimes 4 degrees of freedom. Myoelectric is usually worst. They can only switch to different grips and have an on-off.

Do you know how many a real human hand has?

Depending on what you count, 24-27.

We need more government funded research to be honest

Why is government funded, the superior funded? A breakthrough is a breakthrough right? Even if it has a trump sticker slapped on it.

because, noone else really works on prosthetics. like i said, the field is based almost solely on innovation in other fields as of now, but the military would like bionic arms, and that's why darpa gives so much money to things like boston dynamics.

Oh fuck no. You aren't gonna get fine enough control signals from a headband, especially when there is a fucking welder nearby. What the fuck is he using sensors? And that pneumatic pump looks way under specced. Fuck is he using electric motors or pneumatics? I can't fucking tell
