How do we read all of those textbook PDFs that we all pirate? Do you use a monitor pivoted vertically? Do you import it to an e-reader/tablet? I'm curious to what everyone uses since we seem to link PDF files and recommend all of these textbooks on a daily basis.

I would use an ipad if I had one, especially for journal articles. Otherwise I just view it in default mode on my chromebook

I double click it, and then begin reading.

Just print off the parts you need as you need them.
Then arrange them in order, staple, and read them.

I put it on one half of a widescreen monitor, then put something else on the other half because I rarely just read and do nothing else. I hope you have your taskbar on the side.

Maybe I'm old-fashioned but I absolutely can't stand reading pdf textbooks. I have a 15.6" notebook, an 8.9" high-resolution tablet and a 6" ebook reader (bought for reading fiction) and I can't really learn much when reading a textbook on any of them.

>> No.7676559

>>7676550
You can get used to it. I felt the same way until I was forced to use PDFs. It's just a matter of comfort zones and those can be redistricted if you do it the new way enough.

>> No.7676578

I have a kindle paperwhite and it's completely terrible for reading pdfs in, but it's a hell of a lot lighter to carry around than a laptop so I have gotten used to it. Otherwise I do what OP does and do that vertical screen thing on my second screen.

Are you people all fucking retarded?

Clearly a 2560x1440p portait mode IPS panel is the best for reading pirated pdf textbooks.

I don't like working off screens, despite the fact that you can in theory have more annotations per page than on hard-copy, hard copy is just easier in most cases, until I can find something to seamlessly put decent LaTeX notations anywhere on pdfs I'll be buying my hard copies for anything I care about.

Lying on your back is for sleeping or for a women waiting to be fucked. Not for active studying.

not to sound like a fedora tippin, i like to bring my typewriter to starbucks faggot, but i feel disconnected from the material when its on a montior and even on a 10" tablet. i feel more engaged and connected with the material with my hand on the page and print.

Someone needs to come out with a new version of the Kindle DX. Surely technology has improved since the DX was designed in 2010. Something lighter, higher res screen with more levels of grayscale would be nice. Color of course would be great but I can live without it for most PDFs.

I just turned my regular TN monitor vertical (it's not supposed to be vertical).

It's kinda cool in terms of layout, but each eye sees a mildly different image due to high "vertical" angle sensitivity.
It really sucks being poor.

>>7675702

If I could afford it, I'd buy and e-reader.
Or at least a big, high pixel density OLED tablet.
