/sci/ I took a physics exam and got a 76 and the class average was a 63, am I still retarded?

Depends.

Perhaps a better question would be, are you content with being 'above average?'

>> No.7647977

>>7647970
I thought sci believed that if you couldn't get an A in basic dynamics you were retarded

>>7647966
No you essentially got a B.

Average is usually considered 70, so if in this case it is 63 then you got the equivalent of an 83.

depends senpai are we talkin fluid dynamics or classical mechanics?

Yes, but not as much as most of your classmates.

It matters more whether or not you understood the material. Getting 3/4 questions right on a hard test is decent if you can legitimately say that you understood the material.

Some people can be bad test takers due to time constraints or stress. You may want to review the material if you feel that your grade was too low.

Don't feel bad, I got a literal C in a Calc III exam.
It shall haunt me forever.

what
the
fucking
standard
deviation

but the fact that you didn't think about providing it actually answers your question.

>> No.7648345

Yes if you're Merican, where anything below 90/100 might as well be a big fat F.

Depends where OP took the exam. An European 76% would be an American A just because of how inflated their grades are.

>> No.7648350

>>7647966
Yes you are! For asking if fucking question even when you got an above average score from your class.

>> No.7648356

>>7648342
I've never had a professor give me a standard deviation of the scores. Is this a common thing? Or do you seriously expect OP to calculate it himself for a shitpost?

>> No.7648365

>>7648356
I don't know if it's a common thing, but I def had professors who would either give average/std or even the full distribution.
