GMOs are fine.
Nuclear is the most sustainable energy source, especially for the price, and the cleanliness of the waste products.
Space programs are pretty important, and identification of near earth objects will both keep humanity safe and provide extra resources to exploit.
Massed vaccination programs are important to the health of a society.
We need to reduce carbon emissions, and the easiest way to do that is by cutting coal power and bunker fuel powered ocean liners.

Research into solar, wind and tidal power generation is good, but currently not viable enough to outperform the advantages of nuclear.

What other scientific truths can we put in this thread to raise the level of discussion with the public and engage them with science?

>free energy from the sun, which is being harvested in higher quantities, lower costs, and at a higher efficiency every year, can't compete with a process that creates radioactive waste that we can't get rid, and which can lead to a nuclear meltdown if there's even one mistake

>number of nuclear meltdowns
>vs the number of power plants that are currently running
>all the world's nuclear waste so far can fit in a football field, stacked ten feet tall
>chuck it in the Canadian Shield below the water table until we invent a space elevator, or something similar, then toss it outside the system
>Thorium on the way
>Fusion on the way
