Why are memorization techniques not taught in the early stages of a child's life? I turned 1D kinematics into a fucking book in my own brain library realm. What I could have accomplished at an academic level had I realized the power of imagery association earlier would have been astronomically higher than what I did accomplish.

We need to teach the kids about this shit.

Most people simply don't know about it.

Can you give references, for the techniques you learned/used so that those of us who are interested may study it.

You can't even blame me for realizing this shit later than sooner because it's something you don't truly appreciate until you appreciate it

I used the roman room technique to create a system of organization where I envision landing in a cylindrical room that splits off ibto different sections based on subject wherein every section has potentoally an infinite amount of rooms for me to store information. From there I enter a room and create books on pedestals containing the information I want to remember.

You should train your visualization,

When I try visualizing it just goes on it's on path. Like I try visualizing an elephant and suddenly it starts dancing around and the more I try to stop it the more it dances, or I think of a book with writing on it and the writing suddenly just falls off the page making it unreadable.

because then what happens is that your visual association memory is far beyond anything you'd bother remembering in conversations/verbally and you can't even remember your group mate's name unless you read it on a piece of paper..

I read just a little bit and watched that ted talk and picked up on the premise pretty quick. It takes a little bit more effort to imprint information into books, you have to review the information until you have it temporarily memorized and then you have to interpret the information in ideas to write it down.

I've read a book on this a couple of years ago, I think it was caleld 'Moonwalking with Einstein'.

It's truly amazing what you might be capable of doing. Man if only I started with the techniques and guidelines from that book every day until now I might acutally remember my own bank account nuber at least.
