Hey /sci/guys.
A fellow factcraving MF wondering what the "stretch mark" after a A-bomb is?

Just in the beginning of the video you see this and right in the end you witness it again.

Anyone that can explain this to me?
Thxkbye

you mean the vertical smoke trails?

Yes

They shot off rockets jsut before the bomb exploded, so they could see the atmospheric shock in the displacement of their smoke trails.

>> No.7474201

I think they are smoke trails dropped in equal and known distances so they know the scale of the big explosion

Allright,
So that explain why theres no such trail at a live nuclear bomb...?
But they don't use it today when they test the bombs?
Seems much more efficient do use technology for that?

Thanks

how can a cameraman be in the middle of the nuke explosion and film those houses getting blown away

fake

nukes don't exist

this video was shot in the fifties, at the dawn of the nuclear age. they used the tech they had. they dont do it anymore because now we know the effect it has on the atmosphere.

np anon. you should check out some of the stock video the military has released of these tests, there are some good documentaries out there.

also the russians. tzar bomb for the earth is kill.

Who are 'they'? North Korea? Their tests were underground. Last atmospheric test was conducted in 1980.

Okey, sorry for not being up to date with the nuclear bomb test shit, will do my homework next time.

>>7474241
Damn, that Tzar bomb is very much to kill the earth!

I think it was in this vid from Vsauce that said "less then 2% of the Nagasaki bomb was detonated".

Is that a fair count?
I mean, would the blast be the end of the earth as we know it?

>> No.7474357

>>7474305
>is that a fair count
Essentially. What he means is that 98% of the U-238(or whatever isotope was used) did not undergo fission and so contributed no energy to the explosion

>is Tsar Bomba kill for earth
Considering it's been tested, no.
Check this out for information on nuclear blast radii over different locations on earth

>>7474357
Sorry for being a bit "miss understood".
I know what fission is and sort of how it works.

So that part with 98% didnt undergo fission I got.
But is the curve of the "blastradi" a exponential?

Don't know how to describe it better in english..
Sorry for that.

Anyway, thanks for all the good answers guys!
I really like this part of 4chan!

No. Tzar bomba was no where near something like an asteroid impact.
