Why do all of you math or phys major cucks see the world in black and white? I had a physics major who already has his doctors tutoring me and he could not solve a simple EE problem, all these fields are there for a reason. You can call engineers catalog designers, but if you seriously think that it is such a simple thing you are even more retarded than you already proved to be by your statements.
The day a pure math major can simply go into the workshop and design a simple resonant circle which can be integrated into a network without getting fried I will admitt that engineering is pointless.

Most threads you see here are /x/-tier in scientific accuracy with people spouting claims like some old hag neighbors meeting at the supermarket. Other threads are just /soc/-coloured blog shit, asking about iq, major, university or other pointless drivel. The third kind is one of the most pathetic I ever see here, those are the ones where some middle-aged dude who has to take his math test after 10 years of not doing shit and cant even work around quotients, asks how to solve a quadratic equation and the pathetic thing is that he gets shat on by everybody, although those threads are ironically among the only ones which actually have any substance to them. The idiots on this board then proceed to solve this thing, half of them give the wrong answers, and wank themselves off to the fact that they completed a highschool task.
I get the feeling that the engineering is gay meme is only so successful, although being older than my granma who survived WWII, is because most of the people here are bitter as fuck, knowing that they can not solve one fucking integral as math majors, or being NEETs who read too much pop-science articles and now think that a scientist does not need no math or supporting literature, because everyone here is a self-proclaimed savant.

Dividing by differentials is perfectly fine in statistical mechanics due to use of total differentials. The coefficients of the differentials in a total differential expansion are simply the partial derivatives with the other variables held fixed; if you want to determine a partial derivative--which is probably a useful thermodynamic quantity--you just divide by that differential.
