Hey guys, I'm reading baby Rudin and its proofs is pretty cool. However, I keep forgetting how the proofs work 3 days later and need to revisit most of them. What should I do? I always have a feeling that something just doesn't click when I read the examples.
Like how did he get here?
How could one think like this?
How does one know that doing this will result in that?
They are cool and easy to understand. But I want to learn the book more effectively.
Pic unrelated.

prove the results yourself while reading

I did a few, but how do I know if it is valid when it is different from the book?

if it's a proof, it's valid
if it's not valid, it's not a proof

Just don't be stupid. Read your own proof as if you didn't believe the result, trying to find a mistake in each and every small step. Only if you have no choice but to accept the result, it could be valid.

Well, I will try nitpicking the proof as hard as I can. It is a pain since I'm a paranoid faggot.
