Amazing memory
Logical thinking
Creativity

This combination allows for the application of old ideas to be applied in new areas as well as the invention of new ideas and theories

Memory, logic and creativity can be trained. But there's something different when it comes to actual geniuses. They're fucking psychopaths and sociopaths.

They can be trained, but not to the extent of a genius. It's like someone who plays high school football versus a professional. You can train your body to it's limit, but there are always some people who will be better. Same thing, except instead of muscles and endurance, it is mental abilities.

what sort of genius? to be sure there is overlap, but say an artistic genius will differ from an author as a scientist does a mathematician. I've found the people to be best at the arts are those who can see, hear many different things in a widespread range of other works. extremely confident in their taste, take naturally to whatever form their creativity takes, have a high desire to push their ideas through to completion. typically there is a distinct "style" that they alone possess, typically experimental, but always very in control, cognizant, inventive, somewhat daring but with excellent end results. most of all its an all consuming interest with that particular medium, as well, there is often a combination of complexity, elegance, or ingenious simplicity, fluid in form, flawless execution. valuing these concepts and elements.

Take a look at Leonardo Da Vinci. I agree the definition of genius differs depending on the subject but there are many extraordinary individuals in history who seem to out of touch of the world. They have mad respect for creative thinking and beauty of life. How is that remotely related to intelligence? How are their brains different from 'ordinary people'? Well, I've read (from an unreliable source) that Albert Einstein's brain was slightly larger than the average person's so clearly there is a difference.

"Leonardo di ser Piero da Vinci, more commonly Leonardo da Vinci, was an Italian polymath. He was a painter, sculptor, architect, scientist, musician, mathematician, engineer, inventor, anatomist, geologist, astronomer, cartographer, botanist, historian and writer."

yea probably if you are all those things you are most likely a genius

Except he was good at all of them. Honestly he was so good at so many things id almost say stuff has been attributed to him over time he had no part in.

LOL!

I have heard froman unrelaible source too but in my case it was said to be smaller (the size of a typical womans brain)

Read somewhere before low latent inhibition is the cause of creativity in many.

I would say this in regards to creative geniuses. They also don't think with limitations. They believe anything is possible and go against the odds. Back in the day before airplanes flew, they said humans would never fly, the Wright Brothers and other innovators proved them wrong. Just like today, idiots say we won't be able to achieve lifespans of hundreds of years, and perhaps virtual immortality. They will be proven wrong.

I don't quite agree with your anology. A professional doesn't have to be more talented than a high school player.
Of course there are some differences to talent, but I think that this always gets blown up by people too lazy to make an effort.

It's simply the easiest way out to say you haven't got the talent to achieve something
