The first major step towards equality didn't actually come until effective birth control became a thing in the 60's, and it takes several generations for the system to fully integrate women after that happened. Come back in 50-100 years and we'll be better able to answer that question.

Simply, it is not fair to compare academic achievement between men and women for the gender roles were much more clear which is not "opresión" in the same terms such as slavery or the like. It wasnt like women were shouting discomfort for not being aloud in academia. The first western bastions of knowledge were monastery but men and women were expected to do different things but none was the lesser

This type of.expectation is outdated, but it is idiotic to say that all gender roles are social constructs or bad per se. So you will probably still see gendercentric careers.

With respect to marrie currie, it is true that there was a lot of politcs involved (like nowdays) and there was little merit to.her husband. And it is a bit detrimental to only expose marrie currie while not shinning the light to other important women like emmy noether and the one who did predictions about nucleqr fission and a lot of astronomy. And I think is that many people just care about the gendee rather than the contribution.
