ChemEng and EE majors, why are you superior to the other disciplines?

>> No.7411140

Feels good being a math/physics major at the top

You aren't even above of Civil, get a PhD and maybe we'll talk about comparing you relative to superior professional undergrads.

Feels bad

I learn more interesting things imo. I plan in doing a PhD anyways

I've written reams of posts insulting chemical engineering on sci. Go and search OPs on the 4chan sci archive (not the one hosted on 4chan itself)

False flags and trolls.

The ego balance must be kept so that no single major grows too powerful.

It's a meme degree

I've never understood the interest argument.

Philosophy is far more interesting than law and yet if you had a power pill / genie no one their right mind would choose to have a philosophy degree over law.

Nah nuclear is pretty cool. They have enough generality to be honorary members of the 4 traditional disciplines.

It's nothing like those nano, eviro, biomed and EP meme degrees.

it's just a suggested plan. everyone takes ODEs before linear alg

I took ODE's and Linear at the same time. In fact, they attempted to discourage me from doing so, they preferred I take Linear first.

>> No.7412272

>>7412203

I took ODE's and Linear at the same time. As a matter of fact, they recommended I take Linear first, since some of linear was used in my DE class.

>> No.7412313

>>7412214
How can you study ODE's before linear algebra? Matrices are really important for systems of equations and you wouldn't get very far without understanding linear operators and eigenvalue problems...

you learn eigenvalues/vectors in Diff Eq's. At least we did

>> No.7412633

>>7411165
Why is it law vs philosophy?

From an interest perspective, some enjoy law as some enjoy philosophy. Regardless, if it for some reason comes down between philosophy and law where someone prefers philosophy, I'm sure people would choose philosophy.

>> No.7412641

>>7412631
I took Linear Algebra before ODE's and my prof still insisted on teaching us eigenvalues/vectors in Diff Eq's. It was a waste of time (accommodating for those shitty engineering students who scrape by) but based on that, I can easily see how you don't actually need linear algebra for that class.

>> No.7412670

>>7411165
This is a dumb example because very few undergrads going into law school actually do pre-law programs and philosophy is a great undergrad degree if you're going into law, assuming it's something you can excel at
