Current consensus amongst people who are studying it is that the theory is correct in general. A few holes have been found but quickly fixed by either them or based mochi.

The worst case scenario is that it's all correct but the ABC theorem is the only significant theorem that comes out of all that theory. Either way, Mochizuki advises people studying it that there's no guarantee of any other significant results, so they all know what they're getting themselves into.
