That, OP, is a difficult question, my inclination is to say no. It was a great acheivment, yes, but I think perhaps more of a political, and engineering feat than a scientific one.

That said, i would be hard pressed to find something that clearly can be argued as greater than that. Internet, also seems engineering, as does the integrated circut.

Perhaps, I would suggest, something like the discovery of the microwave background, or perhaps, hmm.... I may have to post back here.
