Studies suggest that myopia (near-sightedness) correlates with little exposure to natural sunlight.

If Bane was born into and to the darkness, molded by it, then the science suggests that Bane very likely needed prescription lenses.

In the film, The Dark Knight Rises, Bane is not depicted as wearing glasses.

This prompts the question: what corrected Bane's vision?

Could he have received corrective eye surgery? (From Dr. Pavel perhaps?) Or did he wear contact lenses?

What are your thoughts, /sci/?

Maybe he has just had bad vision his entire life and didn't realize he needed glasses. And this is why he didn't see the batpod coming.

>And this is why he didn't see the batpod coming.

That's a good point.

It might also explain why he never used ranged weapons.

He was never trained for that either. Though for someone like Bane, I think he could do anything he wants, so you make a valid point

Dr Pavel, I'm an optometrist.

This was a good discussion.

Thanks, /sci/.
