hey /sci/, going into Electrical Engineering in a few months. I've been looking into joining the us air force as an officer after graduating with my degree, but I've been looking around band it seems they don't do much actual engineering, or research and development. would going into the USAF help my career at all or just make me compete against fresh undergrads four years late?

Retarded. Join a government contractor or civilian agency like NSA, NRO, NGA, etc.

Compared to the air force, any other branch is practically spetsnaz.

Anyway, >>7259437 knows what he's talking about. Virtually every officer has an engineering degree nowadays. You're not going to stand out, a lot of those guys want to do research, too. And anyway, it's not like you're going to be doing something cool like Stargate if you join the Airforce, anyway. Be smart and stay civilian.

Another tip: The navy has better planes, better pilots and more money. So, if you want to do aviation, that's where you go.

What is your name and date of birth? Have you traveled outside the country? Do you have any international acquaintances? Have you ever committed or planned on committing terrorism against the United States? Have you ever fapped to loli porn? Do your relatives have extremist ties? Have you ever pissed in the shower? Have you been involved with the communist party in any way? Have you ever stolen anything physically or digitally? Have you ever lied on a government application?

Congratulations, welcome aboard!

do i have to answer 'no' to everything

You have to answer truthfully, basically. They're looking for discrepancies where you might be trying to hide something.

Basically, it's like Papers, Please.

>>7259562
No,

If you traveled outside the country then you need to tell them where and what you were doing
If you have any international acquaintances, they need to do background checks into them
If you ever committed or planned on committing terrorism against the United States then you have to explain how you recanted
If you have pirated stuff as a college kid, you have to promise to stop that shit

etc
