Please help a stupid person out and explain how you did it:

A cyclist travelling at 24km/h takes 15 minutes longer to complete a certain distance than a cyclist travelling at 32km/h. Calculate the distance covered.

I'm afraid this is too much for me to deal with

because the difference is 2 km for every 15 minutes traveled so at 45 min it takes 15 additional minutes to travel 32km/hr for 45 minutes

set up a system of equations and solve

km/h * h = km

24 km/h * (t+1/4) h = x km
1/4 because 15 mins is 1/4 of an hour

32 km/h * (t) h = x km

32 km/h * (t) h = 24 km/h * (t+1/4) h

solving for t gives 0.75 or 45 minutes

32 km/h * 0.75 h = 24 k
