get discrete mathematics and its applications by Rosen and work through as much of it as you can. Do a lot of proofs and don't skip the graph theory.

At the same time, buy babby's first python textbook of find some shit online and actually learn the rudiments of programming

Then, switch your major to mathematics as soon as you get to school.

Prepare for disappointment.
College Park fucking sucks, as do all the people who live there.

Good math and physics departments, though, iirc.

Yeah, STEM is still pure.
The rest of campus is a SJW hellhole.
Luckily they put all the STEM buildings together, and even have places to eat in them, so your contact with the marxist savages will be minimal.

Terrible decision. Major in CpE, EE or Math instead.

Get an understanding of discrete math, read some of Concrete Mathematics by Knuth. Learning even a little about graphs, trees, and data structures will help a lot.

SICP is MITs intro text and is also a good read.

UMBC or College Park?
If it's UMBC, I'm sorry.

They keep fucking leaking into our STEM fort though.

There's more fucking hipsters studying art and bullshit that come to eat at our shitty cafeterias than STEM students who actually have class. God knows why they travel half a mile just to sit in our shitty places that are inferior to main campus'.

Rutgers hasn't experienced this yet. Most of the hipster tumblrette faggots stay in their own separate campus and everyone else that matters studies in three other campuses

I went to undiegrad in a real city. College park has no hipsters. At least sjws and hipsters can be (pseudo)intellectual, and bring some culture with them. This place is not that. You sound a bit salty, there's nothing wrong with other disciplines, hipsters, etc. but goddam it would be nice if there were fucking anything other than frat parties even just to actually have somewhere to have moderately interesting conversations with people that's not fucking cornerstone.
