What is the smallest building block of the universe ? If it's energy then what is energy made of, and how come it came into existence ?

The most fundamental things in the universe are potential fields. Energy comes from differences in potentials. These fields span the entirety of the universe and yet are the basis for the existence of single atoms.

We don't know.
What some theories say:

>Quantum Field Theory and the Standard Model
quantum fields give rise to particles, matter, energy, and forces.
>String theory
strings make up everything.

It doesn't make sense to say that "energy" is a building block of the universe. Fundamentally, energy is just a mathematical concept (specifically, the energy of a time-invariant physical theory is the constant obtained from the time-invariance symmetry).

Probably sand or something. Sand is pretty small.

Observer participancy gives rise to information;

and information gives rise to physics."

If you can find the answers to these questions, then you will win the Nobel prize, and become Chief of the LHC, and have job offers at every university in the world.
Do you get my drift?
