Am I retarded if I study and do all the homework, from the beginning to the end of the semester, for Linear Algebra 1 and still fail the test?
Should I give up on STEM?

>> No.7165217

No. Learn to study better.

Studying 15 minutes every day each week is better than studying for 4 hours on a single day each week.

Not OP but that advice isn't particularly helpful when it can take 30+ minutes to do one problem.

I'm guessing it's a choropleth version of that famous picture showing which places produce the most light at night.

Study more. All you did was the homework? That's fine for some people but some subjects require frequent practice, not just an understanding of the concept.

Actually it's even shit. Maybe 1h30 per session is nice. Also learn to focus on what you need to do. I know a lot of people spend a ton of time doing all the work but some exercises are repetitive, others you already know how to do. You need to focus on what you don't know and on getting it right the first time, you don't have time to come back later.
And finally be efficient. When you work you need to produce sth all the time. Sitting with your notes and browsing fakebook isn't time well spent.
Also it seems you need to stop taking notes during the course and follow the reasoning.

Linear algebra is some pussy ass shit I'm sorry to say, unless your like some garbage major that doesn't need math like Petroleum engineering, I'd be seriously worried and reconsider every choice you have made in life
