Aristotle's hypothesis was that 'nature abhors a vacuum'. The laws of physics and nature state that you cannot have empty or unfilled spaces. However, the atomic theory states that between subatomic particles is empty space. What Aristotle didn't know at his time was that you cannot obtain zero pressure, therefore a perfect vacuum is impossible. A perfect vacuum only exists between atoms on a microscopic level, and is not yet known to be on a large scale currently deemed impossible. How does his hypothesis of ‘nature abhors a vacuum’ relate to his views on the universe and the idea that the Earth was centre of it?
