Even drugs which aren't physically harmful to your brain should be used with discretion.

High dose psychedelics can leave you exhausted and in shock. They can also leave your mind refreshed and at peace.

I know that many drugs are illegal for entirely political reasons, and not for public safety, but I don't know if everyone could handle having the most intense, emotional, fun, spiritual and bizarre, experiences of their life all at the same time.

1. The smell of grass makes me physically sick
2. I am tired of my young kids asking what that smell is when we are walking round my town.
3. People that smoke 'seem' to be less well dressed, their demeanour is downtrodden, they appear menacing.
4. Heavy dope smoking DOES induce paranoia.
5. All the above, including the illegality, lead to criminality (albeit low level).

Here comes the "science and drugs" thread...

We do it because we like it, and there's less pressure to stop because the stuff has been around a long time and with relatively low consequences. Don't try and find lab proof that its safe. Most importantly we don't know how the brain works, but at the core, it isn't safe. It just isn't. Alcohol isn't safe though, guns aren't safe, cars, skydiving, the list goes on. Even for those that don't smoke, you have to confront that it exists and respect the large amount of people that do smoke, but really we all need to remember that at the end of the day we are only allowed a margin for error only because none of us really know what we're doing.
