I was having a debate with a fellow classmate about what is a more difficult subject?
Chemistry or Physics.
He mentioned that to do practically any engineering, you must have also done chemistry; not sure if that is entirely true though.
What does /sci/ have to say?

I know barely any chemistry and I have an engineering degree.

only a chemist would tell you that chemistry's harder than physics. chemistry's rules are fucking simple. it's one step above biology in degree of difficulty.

He's wrong. I finished with degrees in engineering and physics. I never learned any chemistry. Most chemists think the quantum mechanics they learn is hard, even though their class is usually a joke. I certainly couldn't memorize all the shit they do though. Physics is just more interesting.

I thought the same, I'm doing a double major in specialist maths and physics and a friend of mine is taking chemistry also. Good to hear it won't be entirely necessary.

No.

1) No, not "practically every" engineering major has to take chemistry
2) Practically every (actually maybe every, as I can't think of one that doesn't have to) engineering major DOES have to take physics, though.

It depends on your disposition, but personally I'd say chemistry. There are a million different rules that need to be memorized and FUCK MEMORIZATION.

I'm studying in software engineering and I only have 1 class of chemistry and 3 classes of physics
