Okay /sci/, I'm planning on doing a physics degree. What are the pros and cons for each of these majors (streams)

- Mathematical Physics
- Materials Science
- Environemental Physics
- Astrophysics

I'm keen mostly for the maths stream, but I'd like to hear your views

STOP! What the fuck do you think you are doing?

If you have any desire to go to graduate school then get an actual pure math degree.
If you have the slightest desire to go into industry then get an engineering degree.
Only if you have any energy left from the above do you do a physics major in addition.

Just do compsci unless you want to teach for the rest of your life.

Any physics major or math major can learn everything there is in a CS degree (not just coding) in less than a year on their own.

Op just make sure your math is solid before starting because of not you're going to get fucked hard. Happened to me, but I got over it. You will be amazed the amount of stuff I had to learn in a short period of time as a freshman, quite the shock from high school imho.

I'm in the same boat few weeks from now going back for bachelor's. Physics fags of /sci/ better share their experiences.
