Yeah. That's the south for you though. We spent two hours on evolution the entire year, and even then, we spent just as much time on Lamarckian bullshit (20 minutes) as we did on natural selection.

That being said, the Mrs. T was enthusiastic, organized, and genuinely cared about student interest. She read us part of the Hot Zone, which got me hooked on molecular biology.

what?
The trick behind many of the biochemical processes is that they are entropically favorable.

You know how oil and water separate when you mix them together, well actually that final state has higher entropy than the mixed state. This phenomenon is what drives things like protein folding.
