If a person is highly intelligent, can he do anything he wants in terms of a career/legacy if he has enough ambition and will?

>> No.6971318

>>6971315
No. Not unless he was also born rich, attractive, and connected.

>>6971315

If you're attractive, have a likable personality, a bit sociopathic, and smart... you'll be able to get pretty high, I'd imagine.

OP, if you:

>Aren't at least 6ft
>Didn't finish Kant, Heidegger, Schopenhauer and Kierkegaard before leaving highschool
>Didn't get an A in Real Analysis
>Don't bench at least 315
>Don't run a sub 4:30 mile
>Spent more than a week reading Infinite Jest
>Started Calc BC later than the tenth grade

Then you'll never make it. I wouldn't even bother going to college if you meet one of the above conditions. If you meet two or more, consider donating all of your organs.

>sub 4:30 mile
>Kant, etc. before high school

I guess it's time to buy a motorcycle and check the organ donor box.

And white. Don't forget white.

Nope

Issac Newton had an IQ of probably around 180

He once blinded himself for a week after looking directly at the sun as long as he could

Once he shoved a hot needle into his eye just so he could experience the intense amount of pain

you can easily come up with a dozen counter-examples. Say person X is highly intelligent.
>person X does not have legs. Can he become a non-paralympic marathon runner?
>person X is a male. Can he become a mother of children?
>person X is huge. Can he become a jockey?
>person X lacks basic social skills. Can he become a TV-host?
>person X is black. Can he become a white supremacist leader?
>person X is born in an south-american village which did not yet have any contact with the modern world. Can he become a scientist?
etc.

Why did he hate his eyes so much

For science.

That said, he was basically thrust into positions of high levels of responsibility and authority due to his intelligence.

>if person is _____can he_____
The answer is yes. Can a dead person walk? Absolutely, just shove a robot into his corpse. Can a paraplegic walk? Of course! He just has to use his hands or invent his own robo legs.

The only question is "How badly do you want it?" Inventing robo legs is a pain in the ass, and getting around in a wheel chair is less so.

No, do you really think there is only one dimension of human ability that applies to all activities and occupations?

With robotic legs, one can accomplish any task whatsoever.
