If you really go to MIT, you would know that MIT is actually near equal to the other 9 schools in the top 10 in the US.

(State schools are shit, though.)

then why is Purdue one of the most well known engineering schools over seas? and why are Michigan and Purdue's nuke programs top 10 along with MIT's?

North Carolina State University's Nuclear Engineering program is ranked 8th in the nation. Purdue's program is 12th. NCSU is one of the other well known engineering programs in the US.

I knew where I wanted to go, so I only applied to one school. Don't need to waste 100 bucks on the application just to see if I get in if I don't want to go there. Like I said, I know people that have chosen state schools over MIT. It's not as great as you think.

>> No.6934657

>>6934649

You will. Purdue has a great reputation.

NCSU is the same way in RTP. Basically if you went to NCSU then you are prime target for companies like SAS (which was founded by an NCSU alum) and any other engineering companies in the area. Since you're in engineering you'll be earning top $ straight out of undergrad.

>> No.6934659

>>6934652
I dunno brah. I went to NCSU and got into a top a top 20 program (in the world) for graduate school (according to US News & Report). So, I shit on you instead. I saved a lot of money going to a State school. The top program I got into offered 30k+ as a grad student.

>> No.6934663

>>6934659

Same here. I went to a no-name state school, kicked ass, and got into a top 5 school for aerospace. I just accepted my dream job two weeks ago.

Congrats man! I think it's hilarious people like >>6934652 think you have to have academic pedigree to get into a top graduate school. My letters of recommenders were people from MIT so they carried a lot of weight. I published as an undergraduate too. NCSU isn't that bad of a school either as they guy implied. I know of many people going to no name shit schools and getting into elite grad programs. It isn't uncommon. People like >>6934652 are just insecure fags.

gonna be so pissed if we lose to Oregon, really dunno if we can handle their offense, been waiting all season to take on Bama and prove once again that SEC is overrated as fuck and the ranking committee is terrible

I hope FSU faces bama too. Not sure if FSU will manage to defeat Oregon though. I mean you guys have so many from behind wins, but Oregon plays on a whole other level. I feel like you guys would have a better chance against Bama though.

There are people that honestly believe if you go to a top 30-50 (or below) school you cannot get into a top 10. This has time and time against been shown false. I know various people from MIT from what sci would consider shit tier undergrad programs, and these people are very successful there.
