>> No.6948600

Only if you go to a shit school for cs.

At a good school, it's basically a superset of mathematics where you study highly theoretical abstract mathematics like the principle of induction and modulo arithmetic that you wouldn't even begin to start to understand them. It's impossible to get better than a C in those classes since they teaching the entirety of a Math PhD in 2 to 3 courses.

>> No.6948606

Every year CS curricula are being redesigned to cater to exactly this anti-intellectual audience. What's that? 80% failed the mandatory math exam where they had to draw a graph and to solve a linear equation? Better make that class optional! And what's that? The students complained to the dean because Turing machines are too hard? Better remove them from the curriculum! From now on the autmomata and formal language class will only ask the students to draw DFAs! Etc etc. you get what I'm saying. And no, this is not an exaggeration. I was involved in these kinds of things as well as a student as as a university employee and I communicated with a lot of people from other universities.
