How hard is Physics? I've never done Physics, and I need to take physics for my major. My CC only has one teacher that does the physics classes, and out of 150 reviews in ratemyprofessor, he has a 2.5. I'm also gonna take Calculus II and Linear Algebra during the spring semester. Also, the semester is 16 weeks.

i study physics and you gonna get rekt

I'd honestly wait until you're not doing so many math classes. Calculus II is bad enough.

seconded.

my physics degree is currently like a slow motion train wreck that i'm watching and can't bring myself to prevent it.

Thirded, to make matters even worse, they make you take engineering classes here. I know we knock engineering a lot on /sci/, but goddamn those professors are hardcore as shit.

>spring 2014 semester
>just signed up for:
>physics 3 (haven't taken physics 2 yet) >calculus 3
>a combined differential equations/linear algebra course
>art appreciation (general ed)

>currently have a "C" in calc 2, "B" in physics 1, and "A"s in two different computer classes

How fucked am I?

I'm currently in General Physics I (the mathy one) w/ lab, Calc II, and GenChem I w/ Lab, and another course.
I want to kill myself.
My physics professor only show us the proofs of formulas, then has us "teach each other examples"... so it's basically teach yourself GenPhysics and I am barely hanging on.
Our first exam had a 35.5pt curve. Our second exam had a 42pt curve.
As far as how hard it is, IDK about for you, but for me I'm super aggravated about it and hate that I'm not getting it. Especially because up until now, I've excelled. Like hitting a brick wall of reality that I'm not so smart. School tutors are no help. On the other hand, I find Calc II enjoyable.

tl;dr: fuck that shit.

I study physics (and mathematics), and currently breezing through it. Taking graduate classes in my sophomore year. You guys are just destined to be engineers/high school teach/programmers and what have you, instead of going into academia or the financial world.

Your teacher should get fucked and die in a fire. Actually he isn't a teacher at all if he's making you teach yourself. What a jerk off.

my university is this way too...In most cases, the graduate students teach more than the professors, if the course you're taking even has the option of a recitation. I thought that's just how college is...

It's just upsetting, I really wanted to learn this stuff. My frustration from Physics is spilling into my other courses.
We don't have a TA or anything to help out. When we ask questions, the professor will often reply, "You should have already learned that." He's an astrophysicist, so I'm thinking perhaps this stuff is so basic to him that he can't teach it to others effectively?
There's no physics degree offered, so no chance of upperclassmen to help, either.
