Any thoughts on how this works

not OP, but

This phenomenon is called "sonoluminescence", in case anyone hadn't seen it before.

>> No.6607391

when pressure pops a cavitation bubble, it implodes from the high pressure differential and releases energy

>> No.6607392

great explanation, nobel incoming

its heat when it collapses...the molecules hit each other really fast and the heat and light are produced.

It becomes really reflective for an instant, like a diamond or a shiny jewel.

It produces its own light

I SAID...

It's REFLECTIVE....
like a JEWEL....

Is this applied to any useful technology? Could it be?

It could be that the gas in the bubble is being compressed so quickly, that the temperature of the gas increase without any of the heat escaping. When a gas is heated to a certain temperature it can emit light.

and that is wrong.

Some years ago a guy named "Shapira" tried to use this phenomenon for nuclear fusion.

It produces its own light, jews don't shine in the dark, this does

What cunt wrote that? Was that you OP? Did you make this image?

So, is energy most easily released as light?

>> No.6608395

You should look up "black body radiation"

it's pretty amazing stuff. One of my professors last year does most of his work on sonochemistry and talked about it sometimes. I nearly failed his class though and now I'm embarrassed to talk to him.
