Does anyone know of a good book on the following:
Fritz Haber (known for synthesis of ammonia), Wallace Carothers (synthesis of nylon 66), Edward Teller (hydrogen bomb), Robert Oppenheimer (atomic bomb), Max Planck (quantum physics), organic chemistry or pharmacy

> Edward Teller

I thought he was a pirate

A single book on all those guys? Uh, maybe a history of science book of some kind?

>> No.6602637

I think he means individually books on each of those people or subjects. One book on Haber, another on Carothers, and so on.

Sorry, anon, but I don't know of any books. However, if you haven't already (and you probably have) seen MentalFloss's video on Fritz Haber titled "Great Minds" on YouTube, then you definitely should.

The alchemy of air
forget who its by, but it talks about the haber-bosch process

>Max Planck
>quantum physics
Do you mean the birth early stages of quantum mechanics, specifically?

"The Making of the Atomic Bomb" is the seminal work on, well, the atomic bomb. It's a great narrative of the scientists and science leading up to the the making/dropping of the atomic bomb. It goes through the discovery of the nucleus and electrons/protons to everyone involved at los alamos (Oppenheimer and Teller are stars of part of the book).
