Who is your favorite scientist? I would go with einstein, his work on relativity is amazing. Always, quantization of matter and energy wasa amazing. He basically invented quantum mechanis.

also, how many threads on /sci/ are yours? I have 9 threads up right now. This makes it 10

My favorite is Charles Darwin because of the conflict he had with religion.

Mine is probably Albert Einstein because he created relativism and taht does not only apply to physics, but also to a lot of sthings such as psychology and social sciences.

I also like that nigga who renewed Cosmos. What was his name again?

I know Einstein is cliche, but he was the greatest philosophical physicist. Now people call Max Tegmark a philosophical physicist, and, don't get me wrong, Max Tegmark is a smart guy, but saying "the universe is a mathematical construct" is both foolish and wrong, and representative of the way theories in physics are developed today.

Democritus is my guess.
The delta is the first character... And the little atom symbols make me think him. He's the guy who first suggested that things are made of small indivisible particles basically.

>> No.6569476

Yeah, it says Dēmókritos (Democritus) - he invented the atomic theory of the universe.

What about the Gödel one (I think that's what it is)? Wasn't he the guy who found the solution to Einstein's equations that allowed for CTCs?

eratosthenes, father of geography, dude was the shit man, he calculated the earths diameter, the distance from the earth to the sun, the distance from earth to the moon, made the first world map incorporating paralels and meridians and a whole bunch of other shit

in 200 fucking BC, the most ironic part is, his nickname was Beta, because he was good at a bunch of shit, but not the best at anything... it just makes me sad to think how much we lost with the Library in Alexandria....
