I keep seeing people saying they didn't see anything, so I think I should post this to give some insight. I was outside for about an hour and counted 8 fireballs, so they are definitely there.

Some general tips for meteor hunting:
-Go outside. You are very unlikely to see a meteor through a window.
-move away from streetlights. Find a park, open area, or best yet move away from the city entirely.
-NO CELL PHONES! NO COMPUTERS! NO FLASHLIGHTS. If it is absolutely necessary, use a red flash light for short times.
-Give your eyes AT LEAST 15 minutes to adjust to the dark before looking for meteors.
-Keep your eyes in one part of the sky. You don't have to stare at a single star, but if your eyes are wandering you're less likely to catch a meteor in your peripheral vision (where you're most likely to see them anyway)
-Lay down, relax, and enjoy
