It's not.
It's basically using heat emitted from eddy currents. I admit that it's damn creative to be using something that's counted as "energy loss" into a functional use, but it's really inefficient.

To find an efficient sweet spot between magnetic capability and heat emitted would be a nightmare, I'd imagine.
