there is no black paper, and the burden of proof is not on them.

>> No.6445767

The answer is they're all cheating fucking chinese

They're never told what the other color could be, only that "not all of them have a black piece of paper on their heads". This means that there was no information relayed to the that they could have a white piece of paper on their heads, yet they ALL fucking said white

And thats because theyre cheating fucking chinese shits stealing our education

>the first person to correctly say whether they have a white or black piece of paper on their heads is the winner

Going out on a limb here. If they knew they were supposed to guess the color, then they knew white was the other option, because that's how the instructions were stated. Since they're smart, they all figured that the only thing they could be certain of was that there was at least one white paper, which is more than could be said about black paper. This tips the odds in favor of it being white. If you have 8 possible outcomes:
WWW
WWB
WBW
WBB
BWW
BWB
BBW
BBB,
and you take out BBB, you're left with W as the more likely outcome

>the first person to correctly say whether they have a white or black piece of paper on their heads is the winner.

"They" refers to the group, the instructions state that the only colors of paper that they as a group could have were white or black. The instructions also stated that they couldn't all have black, thus they already knew that white was toe answer. When the blindfolds were removed, they all were able to respond with the known answer at the same time.

The other possibility, in the event that OP fails at grammar, is that they all guessed black first at the same time, learned they were all wrong at the same time, then guessed white at the same time.

>> No.6445837

Fukin lel guys, this can be solved logically. I'll be back in 10 hours to give the answer

>> No.6445853

its sorta like the the blue eyes island puzzle i think.

so lets say in the scenario where A has a white piece of paper and B and C has black. A would come to the conclusion that he has the white paper.

lets say then that A and B has a white paper while C has black. A would see a white piece of paper and a black piece of paper. The same applies to B. However A & B will realize since no one is answering immediately that means that there must be 2 whites and one black.

Now lets look at the case of all three having whites. A, B and C will all observe that the counterparts have a white piece of paper, and will stay silent as they do not know for certain their piece of paper. However if their piece of paper is black then the result of the second scenario will happen. Since it doesn't then the logical explanation for them is that they have the white piece of paper.

>> No.6445854

lol OP asked the question wrong

>> No.6445855

It doesn't make sense that they all say their answer at the same time, but you can figure out that you have a white piece of paper if you assume that the other participants aren't too dumb.

Assume you have a black piece of paper. In the perspective of one of the other guys, they will see your black sheet and a white sheet. If he had a black sheet, the guy with the white sheet would see only 2 black sheets and would deduce that he had to have a white sheet. But since he doesn't answer, he has to have a white sheet and can answer. But since no one answers for a while, you probably have a white sheet.

Alternative solution: if there is a price for the first person to answer and the game is supposed to be fair everyone has to have a white sheet. That would explain why everyone answers at the same time (immediately) if they are reasonably intelligent.

basically
blindfolds taken off
everyone sees two guys with white paper on their heads
everyone also draws on the conclusion at the same time that the other people are just as unsure as them because THEY SEE THE SAME THING
they all say white at the same time

>> No.6445863

>>6445860
So why wouldn't they all just say black at the same time as soon as the blindfold comes off like the game suggests, do they not want to win?

>> No.6445868

>>6445854
Yeh he did. I've heard the puzzle before. If memory serves, only one individual gets it after hours, and he gets it by realising that his colour is the only possible outcome given that the others didnt realise.

>> No.6445869

1. blindfolds taken off
2. everyone sees two guys with BLACK paiper on their heads.
3. which makes them believe that they themselves have the white paper.
4. Thats why they all say white.

Never believe the people who blindfold you!

>> No.6445870

They all win the game because they all said it correctly at the same time. How they guessed it or whether they cheated or not is irrelevant of the question.

>> No.6445886

>>6445748
>black or white
>first person to say what color is on their collective heads
>blindfolds are removed
>they all see white
>they all say white because on their collective head if there is one white all are white

>> No.6446445

A simpler way to explain it I think (although it's the same explanation as the other anon).

Assuming that everyone only talk when they are sure, since they all said "white" it means that everyone had indeed a white paper. Now the though process :

You are C, the other guys are A and B.
You see A white B white (since everyone has a white paper, but you don't know yet you have one as well).
Suppose you have a black paper, i.e. C black.
With that hypothesis, A sees B white C black, B sees A white C black.
From the point of view of A, if A was black then B would have said white (since then both A and C would be black). From the point of view of B, if B was black then A would have said white (since then both B and C would be black). Of course that does not happen since neither A nor B is really black, but what that means is that if you were black then A and B would now know that they are white, yet none of them said "white".
Assuming they reasoned exactly like you, this means that you can't be black, hence you are white. The other two guys having the same thought process as you, they reach the same conclusion as you at the same time, hence everyone says "white".

The last assumption is shitty though, it would be much better if instead no one answers and you are the first guy to deduce that if the other two don't answer then you must be white.

They all told each other what color the other had on their heads. No one loses.
