the following is a coupled linear system:

{dx/dt = 3x - 12y + 48z
dy/dt = -30x + 105y - 408z
dz/dt = -8x + 28y - 109z
}

I have to find the general solution to that.

I got MATLAB to give me the eigen vectors.

but i don't know what do now. i have a suspicion it has something to do with some identity and sines and cosines.

Rewrite (x,y,z) in terms of the eigenvectors, multiplied by exp{eigenvalue * t}.
