Our senses aren't perfect, the deceive us. Can we determine the true, real nature of other things? Does it even exist?

If we can't truly perceive reality, how can we discover ourselves?

We can't learn about ourselves from a "mirror", because if we look at it we use our faulty senses.

Observable phenomena is a standard we get pretty anal about, and yes "what if time is cheese" type questions piss us off, because "what if god is outside the universe" is a very rude question when you cannot show that "outside the universe" or "time-cheese" is an observable phenomena.
