WHO IS WATCHING THE MOTHER FUCKING FLORIDA DELTA IV LAUNCH TONIGHT?

I'm going to the mother fucking beach.

lucky bugger. I wish I lived that close to a launch site…

Also, if you live near there, you should quickly go get a tour of the Vertical Assembly Building. They will be closing it to the public soon to get ready for SLS work.

The curvature of the earth is such that with you and the rocket at equal heights above the earth, you'd both need to be over 35 miles above sea level.

Why are you on this board?

You're retarded because you're on the math and science board but couldnt bother to do less than a minute of geometry to find out whether you could see it, nor did you do the basic consideration of whether you'd be able to see fire from 1/25 of the way around the world. Do you really think a big flame is two orders of magnitude brighter than a fucking light bulb?

Um... I'm not sure how that's relevant, but... of course? There are a lot more than two orders of magnitude of energy involved.

Hop the fuck off nigger, to me it seemed that if I went to the beach and looked to the southish direction eventually I would see the rocket ripping through the atmosphere as it gained altitude how am I retarded because I literally have no experience with determining whether or not I am too far. I don't even know where to begin with the geometry to figure out if I can fucking see it. And what do you mean
>Do you really thing a big flame is two orders of magnitude brighter than a fucking lightbulb
What does that even fucking mean and how is it relevant to just replying 'no, you're too far away'.

There may be more energy but it is far more spread out and is emitted far more in forms other than light.

There's about 7 orders of magnitude more power output.

It being "spread out" doesn't matter (from that many miles away, how much difference do you think it makes whether a light is a point source or spread out over a hundred-meter-long plume?), and a somewhat lower proportion of that power being emitted as visible light doesn't mean that it's reasonable to assume that the proportion is 5 orders of magnitude lower.

Yes, a big fucking space rocket does make more light than a mere hundred ordinary household light bulbs. Why would you even doubt that?
