Hey guys, i'm retarded and need some help with some math. It would be really awesome if you guys could help out. "Finding slope given 2 points"

2,4 6,7

0,2 4,6

5,2 8,-4

-3,-2 4,-2

-2,4 4,-1

-3,6 1,2

2,-10 5,-6

First, this is a homework question. Homework questions are not allowed on /sci/. Fuck off, shitposter.

Second, this is a really, really early math question. Posters under 18 are not allowed on 4chan. Fuck off, kiddo.

Third, this is really easy.

Slope is equal to "Rise" over "Run."

"Rise" is how much higher the point got. It's how much Y changed.

"Run" is how much farther right the point went. It's how much X changed.

Let's look at your first two points:

"2,4" and "6,7"

The second coordinate is the Y-coordinate. So your Y went from 4 to 7.

7 - 4 = 3 , so your RISE is 3. (6,7) is 3 units above (2,4).

The first coordinate is your X-coordinate. So your X went from 2 to 6.

6 - 2 = 4 , so your RUN is four. (6,7) is four units further to the right than (2,4) is.

Slope is rise/run , so your slope for the first set of points is

rise = 3

run = 4

>[slope = 3/4]

That should explain how to do the others. Ask your teacher if you need more help.

Now fuck off, kiddo.

This had better be a joke. This is grade six curriculum. m=(y2-y1)/(x2-x2) For example:
m=(7-4)/(6-2)=3/4=0.75
Yes, slope can be negative.

hello sir, I am sorry but /sci/ is not a handi-accessible board, nor do we intend to be at any time in the future. Might I kindly suggest that you fuck off to the Khan Academy? You'll be best served there.

Take care,
/sci/bro on behalf of the majority of /sci/

Someone else here. I guess I liked this little bit.
I could not have defined what the accepted definition of 'slope' was for you me or anyone.

Let me say it over again, rise over run. Bye.

That's 5th grade geometry, you should be ashamed of yourself.
