Reminder: the original Iron Man suit was powered by transistors.

That's right, the author heard about how they amplify power, and didn't realize the power still had to come from somewhere, that the transistor didn't just make it.

hypothetical and extremely stupid question /sci/.

Do you think that even when human technology reaches it's ultimate pinnacle of advancement, and with unlimited resources and funding, that it would be possible to create an actual functioning Iron Man armor?

>> No.6297872

Possible if it's dumb luck. The only thing I see possible is the HUD in his helm the augmented visuals.

>>6297872
that's reasonable. We already have in some fighter jets HUDs that track pilot eye movement. So in that aspect we're getting there. Though much of the cannon Iron Man comic depict his suit reading brain waves to take commands. I don't think we'll have that.

>>6297873
I was thinking about what you see in the movies.
>flight.
>Repulsors.
>ARC Reaktor.
Internal weapons bay.

I know it's pure fantasy, but I do think that exoskeletons will become more useful and relevant for industrial and military use as robotics technologies advance. But I'm sure that won't be for a very long time.

>> No.6297888

>>6297879
Exoskeletons are the way to go. Body enhancements too.

We just need to find ways to store power and generate it easier. If we had limitless power it would be the most fantastic thing ever.

That would be a childish dream.

Although we can and kinda started to advance to a Elysium-like future. Exoskeleton prototypes are already in use in the US army. And I have more hope in the autonomous machines like boston dynamics' bigdog.

I think a time will come where people will riot against corporations and the government that use machines and leave the big majority of people unemployed. Leading citizens to split into groups such as people who approve machines, and people who oppose them. And the same machines will be used to oppress these people.

I don't think the question is if we will ever come to there or not. I think the question is will our generation live long enough to see it.

Google will provide data mining, global tracking, surveillance and boston dyn will be manufacturing mechs that cut people in half, and they both will rape mankind.

But in the meantime, people will advance in exoskeletons, accurate and strong body suits and biomechatronic enhancements and we will live a future of Elysium, iRobot, Ironman and Terminator all at the same time

Yes exactly! The thing is, you're bound by your imagination. You can do all these things! You just need to find out how to, the only reason Tony Stark and all these genius' have created these things is because they did them because they're amazing people.

>> No.6297919

>>6297911
Yes, but if we could build a reactor that outputs stupid amounts of energy, paper-thin metal that can withstand tank shells, and micro-propulsion systems that work seemingly endlessly, then we could probably build far scarier shit than an Iron Man suit.

For instance, we'd probably make a bunch of sentinels from Halo and have them evaporate our enemies. Then we'd explore the universe.

>Since then, Doom has turned Latveria around. The tiny nation now enjoys one of the highest per capita incomes of the developed world, and only fails to be a major economic power due to its lack of size and population. Technology has found a home here like no other, and Doom's self-invented super-technology is such an obvious part of modern Latverian life that it actually attracts tourism. Latveria is also home to a growing motion picture and special effects studio; the old-world charm of rural Latveria coupled with the high technology base of the capital city of Doomstadt makes it a common site for filming movies, several of which have won awards for their special effects. Doom has built schools and universities, all the while motivating his people to excel wherever possible. While the nation is small, it is militarily secure due to automaton soldiers watching the border, and Doom enjoys a certain amount of impunity due to having his entire nation protected by the only functional anti-nuclear force field in the world.

What has Richards done to benefit his country?
