STEM stands for "science, technology, engineering, and mathematics." I wouldn't call CS "science," but it certainly would fall under "STEM."

it's just most of us these days are computer-literate, so people can see through the bullshit.

i'm pretty sure other degrees aren't any better. especially if you factor in the fact that kids these days can start programming at 10-15, unlike guys who begin at 20, expecting the univ to turn them from zero to hero. all in all CS produces more competent graduates than the other branches.
